A Compendium: The Earth's 12 Climate Regions 

THE PROCESS

When I was still in college, I took a book binding and box making class with Jim DiMarcantonio of Hope Bindery in Pawtucket, RI. For the final project, I created a box that housed 12 mini hand bound books. I was inspired by Daniel E Kelm's artist book, MARS, and the use of the dodecahedron structure.  Each face of the structure is embedded with magnets and upholstered with a black velvet so the faces stay shut.

Each book is typeset with Bell Centennial, the face famous for its small size, and historically used in telephone books. Nature Images and information are open-sourced from the internet and not my own.
