About
Hi, I’m Maia. I’m an independent staff-level product designer based in Brooklyn, NY.
Over the past 12+ years, I’ve worked across startup, agency, and in-house environments, and have spent the last 6 years operating independently—typically stepping into ambiguous, systems-heavy problems and bringing structure to them.
I started my career at Condé Nast, then moved into biotech at Allergan. I’ve worked in both design-led and engineering-led environments, which informs how I approach constraints, system architecture, and execution.
My work focuses on design systems, internal tools, and high-polish product UI. I specialize in making implicit systems explicit—defining structure, standardizing patterns, and building scalable interfaces for products with real technical and operational complexity.
My workflow has evolved with the medium—from building interfaces directly in Figma to working with tools like Claude and Figma MCP to prototype, test, and iterate on complex product systems.
Much of my recent work is confidential, but I’m happy to walk through selected projects and processes upon request.
In my spare time, I produce a comedy show in NYC.
